Position Description:
The Childcare Assistant provides care for children (birth through 5th grade) during church services, special events, and ministry programs. They are responsible to maintain a secure and engaging space for children to experience God’s love and build a foundation of faith.
- This position is part time up-to 15 hours per week
- This is a non-exempt position
- Greet each child warmly and by name; foster an atmosphere of nurture and care.
- Ensure children have good hygiene, including diaper changes as necessary.
- Assist children with toileting needs, handwashing, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Use proper safety protocols during diaper changes, including gloves, disinfectant, and barrier paper.
- Abide by all Safety and Child Protection policies.
- Using provided curriculum, engage children in age-appropriate activities, including songs, stories, and crafts.
- Ensure the room is clean and set up appropriately before each shift .
- Clean and disinfect toys, play surfaces, and materials after use.
- Communicate special needs or behavioral concerns to the Ministry Coordinator or Director.
- Release children only to parents/guardians or authorized adults.
- Ensure safety within the childcare environment, such as proper storage of cleaning products and electrical outlet covers.
- Notify the Ministry Coordinator of any needed supplies, snacks, or replenishments.
- Report time and attendance using the time management tool.
- Commit to personal spiritual development by studying God’s Word and theology.
- Collaborate with the cKiDS Content and Communications Director and Director of
- Family Ministries to address challenges or updates.
- Child and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED Certified within three months of employment.
- Participate in Family Ministry training events to enhance knowledge, skills, and effectiveness in supporting ministry objectives.
Position Description:
The Cafe Attendant at Cornerstone Church plays a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming environment for church attendees, guests, and members of the community. This position involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages and snacks, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the cafe area, and fostering a spirit of hospitality aligned with the church’s mission and values.

- Greet guest warmly and ensure a positive cafe experience.
- Assist customers in selecting menu items, answering questions about offerings, and accommodating special requests.
- Efficiently take customer orders, handle cash and card transactions, and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Assemble and serve menu items in a timely manner.
- Regularly check and document temperatures for refrigeration units and ensure safe storage of food items.
- Ensure all food and beverage preparation adheres to DHEC food safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, such as wiping counters, sanitizing equipment, and sweeping/mopping floors, in accordance with DHEC guidelines.
- Report any potential food safety or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Work closely with other cafe team members and church volunteers to ensure smooth operations during busy times.
- Report time and attendance using the time management tool.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input for menu ideas, process improvements, or community events.
- Assist in preparing for church-wide events, meetings, or special gatherings that require cafe services.
- ServSafe® Food Handler Certified within one month of employment
